I love to decorate the parlor mantle seasonally, and it is always fun during the month of Halloween.
On the lower mantle, two mercury glass silvery pumpkins top vintage, leather bounds books.
My favorite oak crested bowl is filled with gold-leafed pumpkins, glittery hands, and a crowned skull.
There are insect specimens sprinkled here and there along with a faux barbed wire garland.
On the upper mantle, two skull and crossbones votive cups add pizzazz.
My large clam shell at the base of the mantle is filled with pumpkins, glittery chains, and faux bones. (Notice! I have not gold-leafed the inside yet.)

Wonderful two-tier mantle gives you many options for decorating! You are very lucky to have it!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing what you've come up with this year! I still remember last year's too! The skull looks awesome with the gold pumpkins. I like how you filled the big clam shell with the pumpkins and chain. That's going to take a lot of gold leafing to do that big shell but it will be fabulous when you are done!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYou've thought of every detail! love the skull wearing the tiara and the paperweights with bug specimens inside.
ReplyDeleteCreepy mantel, full of great decorations...I could have used that skull with the tiara with my tablescapeIe just posted today. Your clam shell is quite unique filled with pumpkins. You know how to party my friend...xo
